Yellow warning: The chances of this project being a scam are high, please refer to it with caution
1. Narrative themes
Key words: OpenAI, World Brain
Hot related news: OpenAI releases multimodal large model conference, WorldCoin releases, etc.
Main gimmicks: OpenAI's direct involvement in the project; major media and financing reports; Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley investments; the second worldcoin project
2. Project Overview
2.1 How do users make money?
First, buy WBC tokens, then stake them, and then you will get token incentives every day after staking. It is about 100 WBC = 100 USD, and an average of 20 WBC is generated every day.
2.2 How does the project make money?
The project owner gets a portion of the tokens
2.3 What is the social value of the project?
The project introduction promoted by the Chinese community and the overseas community are completely different. The Chinese community promotes that ChatGPT is a good person, allowing restricted countries to use it for free. Then the computing power and other things help everyone build a better world.
A slightly deeper one uses the concept of worldmodel from Google Brain to build a better model through AI+Web3 (every computer is depin, and can actively perceive and describe the world and build a world model).
3. Core issues
3.1 What kind of problems does the project solve?
The problem that chatgpt cannot be used in China has been solved. (To be honest, I understand worldmodel, but I don’t understand what worldbrain is and its relationship with worldmodel.)
3.2 Have there been similar projects before? Why can this new project win now?
In fact, there are many projects with similar concepts. Some are simple ChatGPT-like projects, many of which have been recommended before; there are also some conceptual projects with high-end algorithms but no token issuance.
The essence of this project is actually a meme coin, a grand narrative, and the feasibility of actually doing anything with it is very low.
3.3 Technical and Narrative Feasibility Analysis
Technically, it is feasible, but this narrative is too grandiose. It would be impossible if it were not endorsed by OpenAI. (Connecting an interface... doesn't count.)
3.4 Whether it has CX attributes
It sounds too mysterious, and with the endorsement of OpenAI and several big names, CX is still feasible. But it cannot withstand in-depth investigation, which will be listed later. However, 99% of people will not do in-depth investigation.
3.5 What are the core strengths and weaknesses of the project?
The advantage is that the topic is very good and it hits several very good marketing points. And their "direct evidence" with OpenAI is really convincing and easy for ordinary people to believe; and the white paper, to be honest, is well written. . . The disadvantage is that the operation team is too low.
4. Economic model and gameplay
4.1 Basic Token Allocation Rules
For this project, this part is not important. It will be explained later.
4.2 Token Expectations
A token has been issued, called wbc
4.3 Gameplay Analysis
The basic way to play is to spend 100u, sometimes 150u or 200u, to buy 100 wbc, and then go to the official website to activate it. About 20 wbc are produced every day, which is the concept of a mining machine.
5. Start
I won’t introduce this part!!! Because I think this project may have pitfalls!!
6. Questioning
I cannot 100% determine that there is something wrong with this project, because some of what he did is true; however, various evidences prove that the possibility of falsehood is greater than that of truth. Here I only list the evidence to give you a warning (I do not rule out that I have misunderstood others, and I also hope that the project party can explain my problems):
Question one:
The model is very strange. To activate the mining machine, WBC coins are used for staking, and there is no public way to buy WBC coins. The only way should be to make an early donation on the official website, then get the first batch of WBC, then promote it, sell the coins to offline people for staking, and then mine coins.
The whole logic is very strange and full of pyramid schemes. Even if you want to do this, why not open the liquidity market or use invitation codes? Using non-public and illiquid tokens for activation is uncommon in Web3 projects, but common in cx plates.
Question 2:
Social media is really pathetic. The tg community has only a few thousand people, and most of them are Chinese; and Twitter also has a pitiful few thousand followers. If this is really the case, there is an obvious paradox in the OpenAI project:
It is impossible that the proportion of Chinese in the community is so high
Social media attention is so low
No big V or famous person took the initiative to support the project or participate in activities, and there was not even a single follower.
Problem 3: All media information is nonsense
Let's first talk about the AP report that the community has been talking about. Did you see the blue text above? It says that this article is paid and AP does not guarantee its authenticity. But this line of text has been selectively ignored;
Secondly, some of the so-called cryptocurrency media are actually paid news and breaking news. They only collect information based on online information, or pay a little money to report it. They will not carefully judge the truth or falsehood;
Can Tianyancha check it? This is the most ridiculous. Tianyancha will not actively include any web3 project if it is not mentally ill. This must be paid and reported by someone. Moreover, the so-called financing and corporate information of Tianyancha are actually from online reports. This behavior is really tantamount to "there is no silver here, but three hundred taels".
There is no official source for information about Morgan and Goldman Sachs' investment. Logically, if Morgan and Goldman Sachs really cooperated with OpenAI, I would not be able to find information in some major media or their official website. The lack of any information actually speaks volumes.
There are also some online rumor-refuting articles and some authoritative proofs. I won’t go into details about them one by one. You can go to these official websites to check them out if you have time.
Question 4: Too low
Too low. I saw various introductions and Chinese PPTs in some of their WeChat groups. It's really hard to describe, and it's completely brainless nonsense. I feel like these people are more like lecturers from Success Learning. (I still know a little about AI).
And why are they recruiting lecturers? ? What are they talking about? Selling coins? ? No nonsense, isn’t this just CX? I think the main group seems to be a group of grandpas and aunts. . Hey, big brothers, please don’t take the money of the elders like this!
Even if it is true, it is hard to protect it.
Summarize
I actually don’t think that the people in China who promote WorldBrain are scammers, and they are unlikely to be the masterminds behind the scenes. . Because this website and the related white papers, as well as the tone and chain of evidence, are still very professional. These idiots in China don’t have the IQ. .
I am more inclined to believe that they are the first group to be deceived, that is, they took the initiative to become early contributors to this website and exchanged WBC, and then went to promote it (claiming to be early investors); because to be honest, whether it is CX or not, you can really make money in the early stage. And to be honest, even if you enter now, according to current observations, this plate will have at least a 15-30 day cycle, and you will not be the last wave for the time being. . .
Of course, I very much welcome project owners and investors to slap me in the face.
