***Prices of movie stars' cars in 1950***

Under the title “Movie Stars’ Cars Model 1950,” Akhbar Al-Youm newspaper published in August 1950 a report on car prices in which it said:

“Some stars and movie stars bought new cars, all model 1950. Tahiya Karioka bought a 1950 Buick for 1,200 pounds, and Laila Fawzy bought a Chrysler for 1,200 pounds as well.

As for Faten Hamama and her husband, Ezz El-Din Zulfikar, she bought a “Dodge” car for 850 pounds, and Mohamed Fawzy bought a “Chevrolet” car for 1,250 pounds. As for the artist Hind Rostom, she prefers the Peugeot brand, and she buys a Peugeot car with every model and sells the old ones. In 1950, she bought a car from her for 1,100 pounds.

Kamal El-Shenawy and his wife Hager Hamdy bought a Fiat Station car for 480 pounds, Abdel Salam Al-Nabulsi bought a Ford car for 350 pounds, and singer Mohamed Abdel Wahab and director Atef Salem bought a Fiat Station car for 480 pounds.

As for comedian Hassan Fayek, he bought a 1948 Morris car for 600 pounds. Shadia bought a 1949 Skoda for 500 pounds. He bought a 1950 Skoko Rail for 1,200 pounds. Ismail Yassin bought a Buick for 1,200 pounds.

Ahmed Ramzy bought a Pontiac for 1,300 pounds, while Farid Al-Atrash and Samia Gamal had Chevrolet cars as gifts from the Gulf princes.
