South Korean convenience store Emart 24 announced that it will cooperate with the virtual currency exchange Bithumb to sell a limited number of 30,000 "Bitcoin bento" before the 31st of this month. The price is 5,900 won.
The newly launched Bitcoin bento comes with a coupon worth up to 30,000 won in Bitcoin. Customers can use the coupon QR code inside the bento, enter the coupon code in the Bithumb app, and complete customer confirmation and SMS acceptance to receive Bitcoin worth 10,000 won. Users who open an NH농협 bank account can also receive an additional 20,000 won worth of Bitcoin. When customers purchase a bento priced at 5,900 won, they can receive up to 30,000 won in Bitcoin.
To receive Bitcoin, you must complete the coupon code entry during the promotion period until the 31st of this month. Bitcoin will be deposited into the account every Tuesday until June 15th.
The Bitcoin Bento is served in a round golden container reminiscent of Bitcoin. To remind people of the coin image, round side dishes such as fried rice, pork chops and meatballs are used, and "Bit" kimchi is added to make it more interesting.
Bitcoin bento can also be ordered and picked up through the Emart 24 mobile app. If you order a bento through the app, you can pick it up at the selected store on the desired date and receive a 3,000 won coupon as a gift (usable when you spend 10,000 won or more).
Bithumb will donate the same number of Bitcoin Bentos (without coupons) as the Bitcoin Bentos sold by Emart 24 to disadvantaged groups.
