The new Meta application that could replace Twitter!🧨💥

Threads will integrate ActivityPub, the decentralized social networking protocol.

Theoretically, that will allow users of the new app to bring their accounts and followers to other apps that support ActivityPub, including Mastodon.

The application launches on July 6, for the United States 🇺🇸 and on Friday, July 7 for the rest of the world according to the App Store.

The internal name of the application is "Project 92", and its development began in January.

During a meeting, Meta's chief product officer, Chris Cox, called it "our answer to Twitter," which will use Instagram's account system to automatically populate a user's information.
