HOW I LOST ALMOST $800 IN FUTURES DUE TO THE RECENT DISRUPTION OF INTERNET TRAFFIC CAUSED BY DAMAGED SUBMARINE CABLES

Hey folks! We are all aware of the extreme volatile nature of the crypto markets. My story stresses the importance of having good access to internet if you must do futures trading successfully and why you should stay off it if you are experiencing any network downtime.

Underwater cables are the invisible force driving the internet, with many funded in recent years by internet giants such as Google, Msft, Amzn and Meta. Damage to these subsea networks can cause widespread internet outages.

Recently, we've received reports of damaged to submarine cables in the Red Sea which have led to disruption of telecommunication networks. Sources have it that Cables belonging to 4 major telecoms networks have been cut causing significant disruption to communications networks with up to 25% of traffic btwn Asia and Europe as well as Africa and Middle East being impacted.

Few days ago, I opened future positions on $BTC , $SEI , and $AI amounting to $800 with 20x leverage. With my years of experience in trading, I have it as a principle not to trade during extreme volatile market conditions. The position opened was already on more than 28% profit before BTC suddenly took a nosedive which led to other Alts going South. In such situations, it's better to close positions, take profit if any, and either stay off futures trading or trade spot but due to poor internet service, I couldn't execute any of this. Explored all other Internet options to gain access but still wasn't successful. I decided to sleep over it, just to wake and behold the liquidation notification. What even saved part of my funds was the SL. This also points out why you should always have proper risk management strategy as this market may go brutal at a flash.
