NTT DOCOMO, INC. (“DOCOMO”) and Astar Foundation, the organization behind Astar Network, signed a basic agreement on Monday, October 31, 2022 to collaborate in spreading Web3.
According to the basic agreement, the two companies will launch a project to solve social problems using the concept of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), which is one of the characteristics of Web3. The two companies will work together to use Web3 technology to develop solutions for various problems facing modern society, such as regional development and solving environmental problems.
Web3 is the next generation network that utilizes blockchain technology and combines mechanisms such as "decentralization" and "token economy". The expansion of Web3 is expected to solve problems and create economic groups that are difficult to achieve using only traditional economic principles.
On the other hand, Web3 is still in the early stages of technological development, and issues such as insufficient awareness, difficulty understanding how to use it, and lack of a secure usage environment are becoming increasingly prominent. By combining DOCOMO's knowledge with Astar Network's technical and operational knowledge, we aim to solve these problems.
NTT DOCOMO and Astar Network will jointly promote Web3.
