Ruja Ignatova,

a comment on how a woman scammed the world, then she ...disappeared

Ruja Ignatova, born in Bulgaria in 1980

was a brilliant woman graduated from Oxford and a consultant at McKinsey. In 2014, she launched OneCoin, presented as a revolutionary cryptocurrency. In reality, it was a giant pyramid scheme without a real blockchain.

In just a few years, more than 4 billion dollars were raised from millions of investors worldwide.

In October 2017, while U.S. authorities accuse her of fraud and money laundering, Ignatova mysteriously disappears after a flight to Athens. Since then, there has been no confirmed trace: some think she was murdered, others believe she lives under a false identity.

In 2022, she was included in the FBI's list of the 10 most wanted fugitives, with a reward of 5 million dollars for any information.

Today, her name remains associated with one of the largest financial scams in cryptocurrency history. $LUNC $XRP $SOL
