Hello, I'm here!
😜
I am Li Wencheng @Liwencheng0, applying for the #Binance web wallet experience officer.
🙋♀️
!
I've always wanted to talk about some feedback on the Binance client but have been too lazy. However, seeing the Binance team working so hard makes me feel so moved every week with so many airdrops (let me act a bit). Binance treats users with an equal attitude, whether handling issues or conversations, willing to listen to retail investors' voices without being too lofty. Even a casual suggestion in @BinanceBinance Chinese can receive a serious response from @BinanceHelpDesk. I really like this team; you are a lovely group of people. So I hurried to prepare and write about my usage experience with the Binance client and #Binance web wallet DEX for a week.
In this article, I will write about my usage experience, feelings, and the issues I encountered over the past week using the Binance client DEX and #Binance web wallet, with all feedback referred to by numbered code.
First, we have two ways to use the Binance wallet DEX version on the PC:
1. Log in to the Binance desktop client, jump to the DEX program page, and scan to authorize;
2. Log in on the web side, scan to authorize;
Let me first talk about the experience of using DEX in the Binance client software:
In the Binance client (application version), find 'Buy Coin' on the left side, clicking it will directly pop up a built-in window like a mini program. Then, in the top bar of this window, mouse over 'Trade' to see DEX (beta). Future product upgrades could choose to move DEX to the main page. As shown in the image:
Question ①: The new small window that pops up here and the customer service dialog box cannot be hidden. The customer service dialog box on the main page (the larger page) can be clicked to return and hide, but the back button here is unresponsive no matter how you click it. I think this is a bug.
Then we open DEX (a VPN must be used to successfully access DEX here)
Question ②: It can be seen that under the condition of no human request or operation, an error message indicating the system is busy pops up in the lower right corner of DEX, at a frequency of once per second, lasting indefinitely and cannot be closed or resolved. So far, I have not reported this issue to the team. I checked the update status and confirmed that the current application version is the latest. The network environment is proxy traffic (TaiWan), and the error report is unknown. @BinanceHelpDesk
Next, entering DEX, we can see that the current DEX (Beta) is a relatively early tool for dog coins, and the diversity of wallet functions and other gameplay has not yet been integrated, possibly because it is still in beta testing and awaiting evolution.
But some very basic functions have not yet been integrated, such as:
Question ③: DEX cross-chain, I want to exchange my USDT on the BSC chain for SOL to trade, which is currently not possible on the #Binance web wallet DEX. Do I have to pull out my mobile app to cross-chain again? I believe the web version of DEX also needs to maintain its advancement; the reason for using the web version of DEX is because of the larger screen and more complete functions.
Question ④: I want to buy a new coin on the BSC chain, but I can only buy it with BNB. Can I have an option to buy it with USDT on the BSC chain?
Question ⑤: The entire Binance wallet supports too few public chains from mobile to PC, supporting only 46 chains and not allowing manual addition of networks. This is obviously not convenient for quickly accommodating new assets. The on-chain market is very fast; for example, the recently popular X-Layer meme coin cannot be swapped using the Binance wallet because our wallet does not support the X-Layer chain. Similarly, our DEX cannot parse CA beyond 46 public chains. I believe that wallet DEX should be free and inclusive, allowing for the introduction of new public chains.
Question ⑥: Let's first talk about the layout issue on the DEX page:
The information display layout for coins is: Coin Age, Liquidity, Number of Addresses, Market Value, Hourly Change, Hourly Trades, Hourly Volume
The layout here, font size design, are all quite strange. The market value, price, and circulation of the coins are not placed prominently. The price display of the coin is surprisingly inconspicuous, with such small text that is too small and shallow, really hard to see, requiring careful searching. I cannot change the font size or color depth; it feels somewhat forced to use. Some coins are not meme coins; they have large market values, and seeing their market value at a glance doesn't provide much reference. In this case, I might be more sensitive to their current prices.
I even think it is necessary and reasonable to separate market value and price displays to highlight each without stacking them together in a deep and light color scheme. There is no need to copy the layout of the neighboring houses; Binance DEX's design should have its characteristics.
If something is not user-friendly, everyone will just bypass it without saying a word. The on-chain market changes daily; if you don't support this today, you won't support that tomorrow, always lagging far behind the market, then you will never become the first choice for users.
Question ⑦: Then we see some layout issues on the page: in the client window version (non-full screen mode), the page cannot be moved left or right in small window mode. If you want to see more information on the right, you must go full screen. Here, a left-right sliding option could be considered.
Question ⑧: Currently, I see that switching chains needs to be done in the upper right corner, and switching the chain automatically changes the wallet address state without manual adjustment, which is well adapted. I have a question: what if it is a niche chain like Sonic, and there is a newly launched token on it that I want to trade on DEX? Then you need to create a switch option like the SOL BSC chain, but you will definitely not do it in time, or even won't do it for niche chains. So, will users be allowed to input the network here themselves? Or will we have to wait until the web updates to use that chain? Also, just having the BSC and SOL chains is far from enough; the charm of decentralization is that more updated and novel things will emerge in the future.
Question ⑨: We are a non-custodial wallet, which has uniqueness and requires a high level of security. When interacting, should we check the contract and prompt risks? Because trading on DEX gives the wallet full authorization, swapping can be completed very quickly with just one click, even without a second pop-up confirmation. My question is, if DApps are integrated later, can we provide a second confirmation during interactions involving various website information on DEX, including unknown interactions, under the premise of full authorization of the non-custodial wallet? Can interaction information be displayed on DEX instead of needing to be confirmed on the phone, and can there be risk prompts for interaction information?
Question ⑩: Currently, the Binance mobile wallet can import mnemonic wallets, but the Binance web version only supports the unique non-custodial wallet login and does not support connecting a second or third mnemonic wallet. If I want to use a mnemonic wallet for certain operations on DEX, and I want to use the first imported wallet for interactions, the second imported wallet for staking and wealth management, and the third imported wallet for swapping, will Binance's web version consider opening up the ability to input mnemonic wallets later? Or consider making a Binance wallet plugin? If so, this would provide users with many more choices, and the compatibility and distinction between non-custodial wallets and mnemonic wallets on DEX should be addressed to avoid interaction conflicts.
The above are some questions about the use of the client version of DEX.
The web version also requires logging into the Binance main site first, then jumps to DEX, requiring a Binance account login. I have not encountered any error issues during the web version's use. I personally prefer to use DEX in the client because returning to the previous level in the client does not require re-jumping like on the web; it feels more like flipping a book rather than flipping a newspaper.
During testing, I logged in to DEX from two different ports simultaneously.
The content obtained from the two login methods is the same, but if you log in to the client DEX and the web DEX simultaneously, along with the mobile app, that means the same account is logged in simultaneously on three different IPs. The account is a Google email, and when logged in on the phone, I turned on a Hong Kong VPN; then, when testing the client DEX login, the computer may not have the VPN on but is on the local network. During the testing of the web DEX, I needed to use a VPN to access it. At this point, I am using a Taiwan VPN proxy, and the account status is logged in from three widely spaced different IPs. Yesterday, during the testing process, I triggered Binance's risk control, and when I bought coins on C2C, I was required to do facial recognition. Here I report to the Binance Alpha team not to risk control my Alpha because I am testing your products~ Please do not mistakenly kill me~
Suggestion ①: Binance DEX is currently at a very early stage, to be honest, very few people are using it. With few users of the product, you won't receive much useful feedback. You need to find ways to attract more users during the product upgrade process, which is very important.
For many participants in meme coins, especially newcomers, Binance could consider providing some gas fee reductions or even gas-free services for ordinary DEX transactions. You know, sometimes that $0.5 or $1 transaction fee is really important because most people are buying a highly volatile coin, usually just about $0.2 SOL or $0.1 BNB, which is itself a small bet for a big gain. If your gas fees are very low, it would be very attractive to most dog coin communities.
Suggestion ②: Could some special features of the mobile wallet be considered for integration? DEX must be diversified, for example, our Booster activities, which are our features, and can DApps be added for easier interaction? Then inherit more existing popular and original gameplay in the future.
Suggestion ③: When I use Binance DEX to send confirmation credit information to my phone, it feels very much like the instant response of Apple devices and headphones, very fast. This reminds me of the Apple ecosystem, which is coherent from top to bottom. I would like to see more Binance-related activities and tasks integrated into Binance DEX, creating a one-stop Binance ecosystem.
Because the Binance non-custodial wallet is bound to a single personal account, it is much more authentic than having one person act as dozens of wallet identities. Each wallet is backed by a real person, and the data from the Binance non-custodial wallet interacting with projects is of higher value because it is real data rather than machine-generated bulk data. Binance wallet should receive more cooperation from projects.
Of course, there are other small ideas and thoughts I've had; now that it’s time to write, I've forgotten them. I’ll mention them when I think of them later. Looking forward to the DEX #Binance web wallet beta version upgrading soon!
😉
