I first learned about Binance's Alpha project in the comments section of a financial influencer I really liked, 'Zhao Cai Da Niu Mao'. Watching Da Niu Mao every night became a habit for me. One time, I saw a fan sharing that they were making considerable monthly profits treating Alpha as a side job, which piqued my interest.

That period was actually quite difficult; I had been looking for a job for two months and hitting walls everywhere, feeling a bit lost. So my thoughts at the time were simple: I just wanted to make some living expenses.

I don't know much about the crypto world. I had only done one TRUMP trade before, making a 42% profit in a day by taking advantage of information asymmetry, which made me quite happy.

Later, I learned that Binance is the largest exchange in the world, so I downloaded it to give it a try. Once I got the hang of it, I found that both the interface design and operation were much more comfortable than OKX and very friendly for beginners.

Then I started my self-study journey. I registered while watching videos on YouTube, learning how to deposit funds and what risks to pay attention to. Finally, I made up my mind and invested my first amount of 8000 yuan.

After that, I spent every day immersed in Twitter, forums, and YouTube, learning various Alpha knowledge. Gradually, I became more familiar with the projects, and the time I spent on them shrank from over an hour to just fifteen minutes. With more free time, I started learning other Web3-related knowledge.

Not long after, I received my first airdrop, which was from the AB project, and I sold it for a total of 83U. I was really happy at that moment, and that night I took my girlfriend out for a hot pot dinner with that money.

I thought life would slowly get better, but at the beginning of July, I was still worried about finding a job when I received a call from my dad.

He said on the phone: "Your mom is sick, come back for a while."

I felt a jolt in my heart and immediately panicked. I knew that if it wasn't something serious, he wouldn't have called me back so directly. I quickly booked a high-speed train ticket and rushed home.

When I got home, I found out that my mom had depression, and it was quite serious; she had been suffering for more than three months. She wanted to bear it alone, but her health worsened, and the side effects of the medication were also severe—she experienced headaches, nausea, and constant vomiting. In just three months, she lost 26 pounds, was very weak, couldn't get out of bed, and was feeling very low.

Then I started taking my mom to the hospital for treatment. The doctor suggested switching all her medications to imported ones, saying that this would minimize side effects and make the patient feel better. That's when I realized that treating depression is really expensive. After two check-ups at the hospital, we spent over two thousand. The medication is even more expensive, costing over ten yuan per pill, plus her usual blood pressure medication, which adds up to 43 yuan a day just for her meds.

This summer has been particularly hot and stuffy, and my mom's room doesn't have air conditioning. So I withdrew my earnings from Alpha in June and bought her a Xiaomi air conditioner, thinking at least she could sleep well at night.

My mom was always worried about the treatment costs, so I told her that my dad and I had side jobs and could earn a thousand or two each month, assuring her not to worry about money and to focus on her recovery.

Now, after more than a month of treatment, her mental state has improved a lot, and the side effects of the medication have decreased; everything is gradually getting better.

I truly appreciate Binance's Alpha activities. During this difficult time, it really helped me a lot.
