Walletconnect is an open-source protocol focused on seamlessly connecting users' cryptocurrency wallets with decentralized applications (dApps) in a secure and interoperable manner. Since its launch in 2018, WalletConnect has become an essential infrastructure in the Web3 ecosystem, enabling users to interact with dApps across various blockchain networks (such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, Optimism, etc.) without complex configurations or security compromises.
In 2024, the brand upgraded to Reown and launched the native token WCT, aimed at promoting decentralized governance of the protocol through token economics. WCT is issued based on the Optimism OP mainnet, combining Ethereum security with OP network high performance, and will expand to Solana via the Wormhole NTT protocol in May 2025, achieving cross-chain native circulation (non-wrapped tokens).
