What Is Bitlayer?
#Bitlayer is the first rollup and Layer-2 solution designed specifically for Bitcoin using the BitVM paradigm. It aims to enhance Bitcoin's core strengths—security and decentralization—while enabling scalability and programmability.
Bitlayer introduces Turing-complete smart contract capability to Bitcoin, allowing users to build complex decentralized applications (dApps) that were previously only feasible on blockchains like Ethereum.
It leverages a rollup architecture, batching and anchoring transactions onto Bitcoin’s mainnet. This ensures that Bitlayer inherits Bitcoin’s security guarantees.
