🧐 A year ago during the toughest time for Ethereum $ETH with widespread FUD, I wrote this perspective, which is slowly proving to be true—

This time, the Base mainnet was down for 50 minutes. While not particularly long, considering it is an extension chain of the compliant U.S. exchange Coinbase, the impact and symbolic significance are much greater than the technical aspect.

The official reason was not announced immediately, only stating that 'recovery is complete';

Thanks to @_FORAB for the data below:

The chart shows that almost all mainstream public chains have a history of 'going down' in the last three years, especially Solana, which has experienced multiple outages lasting several hours and even over 8 hours.

We all know that when on-chain protocols and asset trading are paused, it means the foundation of trust is shaken, especially for high-frequency interaction scenarios like DeFi, RWA, and blockchain games, this is a fatal blow.

So, the biggest beneficiaries of such events are precisely the Ethereum main chain (ETH L1), known for being 'stable as an old dog.' This is also the main reason I firmly supported it when everyone was FUDing Ethereum in the bear market, feeling that $ETH was not viable—

The ETH main chain has never gone down due to system reasons. It is not the fastest or cheapest chain, but it is the most reliable and secure infrastructure—this is extremely important for institutions and large funds!

@_FORAB's perspective is also one I agree with; institutions on Wall Street think like banks, and they cannot accept sudden outages and lack of transparency;

Currently, only Ethereum meets the risk control requirements at a Wall Street level; in the future, ETH L1 will be more like 'the U.S. Treasury of blockchain' rather than just a public chain. If you want to understand this issue deeply, you won't be afraid of Ethereum's short-term price fluctuations!

A year ago, during the toughest time for Ethereum, I wrote this sentence, and it still holds reasonable today:

When all chains are pursuing speed, performance, and experience, ETH chose to be slow and steady, but when accidents frequently occur, ETH's restraint has instead become the hallmark of the strongest asset!
