Australia to Recognize "Palastine" at UN General Assembly in September.

Australia has officially announced it will recognize the State of "Palastine" at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed the move on 11 August 2025, stating the recognition will be conditional on commitments from the Palastinian Authority — including excluding H∆m∆s from governance, demilitarizing G∆za, and holding democratic elections.

This decision aligns Australia with other nations such as France, the United Kingdom, and Canada, who have also pledged recognition at the upcoming UNGA session.
