👌 Ukraine and Europe opposed a ceasefire on Putin's terms, as he demands significant territory — WSJ
They advocate for a peace agreement that requires a ceasefire before anything else, a mutual exchange of territories, as well as security guarantees for Ukraine, possibly with future NATO membership.
More details from WSJ about the counterproposal from Ukraine and Europe, which is written above:
▶️ If Ukraine concedes part of Donetsk, Russia must free the occupied areas of Kherson and Zaporizhia regions. ▶️ The withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from certain regions should correspond with the withdrawal of Russian forces from others. ▶️ Any territorial concessions to Ukraine must be backed by reliable guarantees. ▶️ The U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance stated that Ukraine's future cannot be decided without Ukraine's participation. Regardless of the outcome, Europe will continue to support Ukraine with weapons and finances.
