The South Korean exchange Upbit obtained the Major Payment Institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in January 2024, becoming a licensed CEX in Singapore.
I am curious about which tokens will be listed on Upbit Singapore after a year and a half.
I did some research and found it quite interesting! I've put together some screenshots for everyone to take a look.
Being listed on CEX in Singapore means that users can directly trade these tokens using Singapore dollars and make deposits/withdrawals. Therefore, in principle, Singapore's banking system shouldn't prevent local users from using their bank cards to pay for these tokens in the respective apps. This means that the situation I encountered with OCBC Bank, where they returned my money spent on the game 'Legend M' without my consent, would not have happened.
It turns out the root cause was that the token $wemix used in the game 'Legend M' was not listed on the Singapore CEX, which led to it being blacklisted by the local banking system.
Wemade, you owe me for my losses!
