While the Ripple IPO remains elusive, market observers are already playing through what a 20-billion-USD valuation could mean for XRP and the broader crypto stock arena.
Despite Ripple's official stance that no IPO is scheduled for 2025, the enthusiasm is back. Paul Barron noted this week that Ripple shares are already trading over at a valuation of $20 billion before the IPO. That's almost twice as much as the $11.3 billion from the latest round of buybacks.
He stressed that an IPO would give Ripple access to institutional capital, investor liquidity and mainstream legitimacy. According to Barron, however, there is a caveat.
