Binance Coin dominates the cryptocurrency exchange landscape
Binance Coin (BNB) has been fundamental to Binance's leadership in the cryptocurrency trading scene. On January 8, 2025, BNB was traded for around $695.62. In 2023, Binance had a 52.6% share of the global spot trading value, generating about $76 billion per day in trades.
However, by the end of 2024, Binance's market share in spot trading dropped to 27%. This is the lowest value since September 2020, due to increased competition and stringent regulations. Nonetheless, Binance remains a significant player in the cryptocurrency exchange market, with BNB consistently ranked among the top five coins by value.
