According to Indian media reports, U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a new Executive Order that imposes an additional 25% tariff on Indian imports, doubling the total tariff to 50%.
This dramatic escalation comes in response to India’s continued purchase of Russian oil, which Washington views as undermining efforts to isolate Moscow amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
