🧠 IBM and its advance towards the quantum supercomputer
IBM announced the development of the Quantum Nighthawk processor, with 120 physical qubits, as the first step towards a fault-tolerant quantum supercomputer. This processor aims to enhance efficiency and overcome current limits of connectivity and error correction.
🚀 Its roadmap points to the launch of Quantum Starling in 2029, with 200 logical qubits and the ability to execute 100 million quantum operations. It will use an LDPC error correction system that drastically reduces the need for physical qubits.
🌐 These advancements will allow the application of quantum computing in areas such as:
- Drug discovery
- Materials optimization
- Chemical simulation
- Solving complex problems
IBM is leading the way towards practical, scalable, and revolutionary quantum computing.
