In a dramatic escalation of geopolitical rhetoric, former U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a sharp warning to Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s former president and current deputy chairman of the Security Council.

Trump, posting on his Truth Social platform, told Medvedev to "watch his words," calling him a "failed ex-president who still thinks he runs Russia." The verbal exchange comes after Medvedev slammed Trump's latest threat to impose punitive tariffs on Russian oil and its buyers, calling it a dangerous "game of ultimatums" that could lead to direct conflict.

Medvedev fired back with a chilling reminder of Russia’s nuclear arsenal, referencing the Soviet-era ‘Dead Hand’ system — a semi-automated nuclear retaliation mechanism designed to activate if Russia's command structure is destroyed.

Adding fuel to the fire, Trump dismissed concerns over India’s ties with Moscow, stating:

"They can take their dead economies down together — we do almost no business with either."

These tensions arrive as Trump gives Russia a 10-day deadline to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine, threatening severe tariffs otherwise. This isn’t the first clash — in July, Trump blasted Medvedev for recklessly provoking nuclear fears.

🧨 Global tensions are clearly rising — is this just political noise, or are we heading toward a more dangerous standoff?
