NFT Vending Machines Are Revolutionizing Digital Collectables in Japan

NFT sales in Japan are getting a major upgrade—no crypto wallet, blockchain knowledge, or tokens needed.

Web3 marketing firm 24karat, in collaboration with Dapper Labs and Flow, has launched AIICO smart vending machines across key cities—from Hokkaido to Okinawa. These machines let users buy NBA Top Shot NFT packs using everyday payment methods like credit cards and Apple Pay for just ¥1,000 (around $6.70).

How it works:

Pick a pack on the touchscreen, scan the QR code, and your NFT is instantly minted on flow through an auto-generated wallet. No gas fees, no crypto setup—just tap, scan, and own.

The rollout is expanding via Bto3’s AIICO network, which plans to install over 1,000 machines nationwide. These vending units will offer a variety of NFTs—from character art like Bloboo to branded digital assets—using mobile wallets, credit cards, or QR-based payments. A QR code linked to a unique minting URL acts as your NFT delivery ticket—making the process as easy as buying a drink.

🧭 Why It Matters

Frictionless access: No need for crypto—anyone can participate using fiat and familiar payment tools

High visibility: Placed in malls, train stations, and cafés—integrated into daily life

Web3 made physical: Vending machines become simple, real-world entry points to digital ownership

Bottom line: Japan’s NFT vending machine model is breaking down Web3 barriers—bringing NFTs to the masses through a seamless, real-world experience.
