What are Stablecoins?
Stablecoins are a type of cryptocurrency whose value is linked to another asset, such as a fiat currency or gold, to maintain a stable price.
Why do stablecoins exist?
The cryptocurrency market is extremely volatile. The price of Bitcoin, for example, can rise or fall by thousands of reais in just a few hours. Stablecoins serve as a safe harbor during these moments of fluctuation, offering stability and trust.
An example of a stablecoin is USDT and USDC, which have their value pegged to the US dollar, meaning they follow the same value as the dollar.
