The co-founders of the Samourai wallet, Keonn Rodriguez and William Hill, notified the Southern District Court of New York of their intention to appeal the court's rulings on charges of conspiracy to commit money laundering and engaging in unlicensed money transmission activities.
In April 2024, they were charged with operating a mixer through which over $2 billion in suspicious transactions passed, including those related to Silk Road. The maximum penalty for both charges can reach 25 years in prison.
