I've seen many beginners discussing full position and partial position in the square, so today I'll briefly talk about how to choose between these two modes.
Let's start with the conclusion: a full position is like putting all your money in one safe; if it blows up, you lose everything; a partial position means opening a separate safe for each trade, so if one blows up, it doesn't affect the others.
Let's focus on the partial position. This approach is suitable for betting on a big strategy. The core logic is to make one big profit that covers costs or even multiplies by ten, while losing small amounts a few times doesn't matter. For example, if you bet on a potential coin, even if you lose nine times out of ten, as long as you hit a tenfold coin once, you still make a profit overall. But never set a stop profit casually, because this mode demands asymmetric returns: small losses and big gains. You must let your profits run enough to be worthwhile. Many people use partial positions but set stop profits every day, which is equivalent to letting the big fish go.
Now, regarding the full position, it is more suitable for conservative players. Essentially, it treats all funds as a whole, managing them through diversified investments to control risk, pursuing long-term stable growth. For instance, if you hold BTC, ETH, and several mainstream altcoins simultaneously, even if one coin drops, the rise of others can offset the risk. The key is to strictly control drawdowns, moving slowly like a turtle, but being able to last long.
If you want to gamble for high returns and can accept multiple small losses, go for a partial position; if you seek stability and fear total loss, choose a full position. But remember, regardless of which mode you choose, don't touch coins you don't understand, and don't put all your money in; the market never lacks opportunities, but it lacks the patience to protect your principal.
