Ethereum Prague Fork (May 7, 2025)
Binance supported Ethereum’s Prague hard fork, which introduced 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) aimed at improving scalability, validator efficiency, and developer experience. Key highlights include:
- EIP-7251: Raised the max effective staking balance from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH, helping reduce validator load.
- EIP-7702: Introduced a new transaction type allowing externally owned accounts (EOAs) to behave more like smart contracts.
- EIP-7691: Increased blob capacity to improve data throughput and reduce costs.
Binance paused deposits and withdrawals for ETH and related networks (Arbitrum, Optimism, zkSync, Starknet, etc.) during the upgrade window to ensure stability.
🔮 Upcoming: Fusaka Upgrade (Late 2025)
Ethereum’s next major upgrade, Fusaka, will focus on:
- PeerDAS (EIP-7594): A step toward full danksharding for better data availability.
- Ethereum Object Format: Simplifies smart contract creation and reduces execution overhead.
📉 ETH Supply & Tokenomics
Since the Merge, ETH issuance dropped from ~13,000 to ~1,600 ETH/day. Combined with EIP-1559’s fee burn, ETH has experienced deflationary pressure, potentially supporting long-term value.#ETH #ETHETFsApproved #Ethereum $ETH
