Chicken Farm Hack Recap – What Happened and What’s Next 🛠

On July 30th, Chicken Farm’s contract was hit by a malicious player who exploited a vulnerability and drained around 65% of the shared pool (over 50k WLD!), which impacted the game’s internal balance.

📌 Important: Chicken Ville was not hacked, but we paused its contract as a precaution because it shared part of the same code.

💥 What happened?

A player deployed a custom contract to abuse the egg-buying function, sending WLD to their own wallet instead of the game. This let them collect huge amounts of eggs without properly contributing, and they repeated the trick multiple times to drain the pool.

It wasn’t a problem with the game economy or the players — it was a smart contract-level issue, and we’re working on a full technical breakdown.

👷‍♂️ What’s next?

We’re considering two paths forward:

- Restart the game with a new contract, migrating all current accounts, and using the remaining WLD + personal funds to rebuild.

- Scale and relaunch Chicken Farm with new game features. Existing players will receive a boost as compensation for staying with us.
