💳 #PayPal Grab has launched stablecoin payment features!
But I have a question: Are merchants really willing to accept stablecoins now? 🤔
To achieve true mass adoption
Relying solely on $USDC $USDT may not be enough
I think there are two reasons:
First, the channels for converting back to fiat currency and user education still need time to be popularized
Just like early electronic payments
Infrastructure and usage habits need to be gradually established
Moreover, businesses in various countries also need to be willing to support payments in 'USD' stablecoins
After all, not every merchant in every location is familiar with or trusts this system
However, this situation is particularly suitable for regions like Turkey and Argentina, where the local currency is highly volatile💡
For them, receiving USD stablecoins is actually more stable than receiving their own currency!
Of course, in terms of the current situation
This is definitely a good start
If it can gradually radiate from regions where cryptocurrencies are thriving/mature to the global stage
Maybe one day the daily exchange between 'stablecoins ↔ fiat currency' will really be not as far-fetched as imagined 😊
