In the Web3 environment, free distribution is a topic that receives significant attention. However, current free distribution models face many problems and are undergoing substantial changes.

Many users consider wallet linking synonymous with obtaining free qualifications and view scanning the code as an opportunity to hop on the free distribution train. This mentality has led to a significant proliferation of 'connect and benefit' scripts, where users open multiple wallets and repeatedly perform the linking.

This behavior has severely impacted the project. It has not only increased the cost of connection but also reduced the proportion of real users, ultimately leading to waste of environmental resources and even hindering the actual community building.

To address this issue, WalletConnect proposed an innovative idea to transform "connection behavior" into a "credit system." In this new system, a unique behavioral fingerprint will be created with each connection, and each signature and interaction will leave a trace that can be tracked. Wallets containing multiple addresses, using the same device, and lacking real transactions will be marked as "low connection quality." Only accounts that maintain stable long-term connections can earn "connection credit points."

The fundamentals of evaluating this system will be based on the WCT (WalletConnect Token) trust certificate mechanism. WCT will be closely linked to connection behavior, and collectively connected multiple accounts will not be able to increase credit value. Wallets marked as low connection credit will automatically be subject to DApp restrictions. Users can use WCT to 'evaluate' their connection behavior, increasing the likelihood of getting whitelisted. At the same time, regulators can also use WCT to incentivize users with 'high connection quality', such as providing exclusive free distributions.

In the future, free distributions for certain projects may only be open to addresses with "WCT Connection Credit Value greater than 80." This means that users will no longer need to make meaningless connections repeatedly, but should build their credit through long-term, stable, and genuine interaction.

This revolution will fundamentally change the current free distribution system, making it fairer, more organized, and more effective. It can not only effectively curb "money grabbing" behavior but also incentivizes users to engage more deeply in projects, promoting healthy development for the entire Web3 ecosystem.

With the launch of this new mechanism, we can expect to see more high-quality projects and a more active community participation. This will undoubtedly inject new vitality into the future of Web3, driving the entire industry towards a more mature and rational direction.
