Balaji Srinivasan, the author of 'The Network State', believes that the future of ownership will be entirely based on crypto and blockchain technology, from digital assets to physical property.

According to his thesis, global ownership will gradually shift to blockchain, becoming unified, neutral, and secure.

Balaji relies on a simple principle:

Blockchain records ownership with precision that does not depend on geography or politics.

He cites Bitcoin as an example, which secures ownership globally through a decentralized network that everyone agrees is valid.

He also points out that stablecoins have gained legal recognition, opening the door for the digital representation of other assets – such as stocks, bonds, and even commodities – and trading them on the blockchain.

But Balaji does not stop at financial assets.

He asserts that even physical ownership like homes, cars, and airplanes will be managed through digital signatures that can control access, using technologies like smart locks.

Anything that can be secured with a door can be linked to a blockchain.

He goes further, predicting that industrial capital, from airplanes to cranes, will also transform into online-controllable encrypted assets, especially with the expansion of automation and robotics.

In his view, the fundamental reason for this transition is security.

Centralized computing systems are vulnerable to hacking, while public blockchain networks have proven highly resilient to attacks.

In the end, Balaji summarizes his idea with one message: all property will become blockchain-based.

Although this future has not yet been realized, the legal and technical foundations are forming, and Bitcoin represents the first step towards a fully encrypted global economy.
