+Edward Snowden, the whistleblower who revealed secrets about the U.S. National Security Agency's (NSA) surveillance program in 2013, is one of the six individuals who helped birth the cryptocurrency Zcash (ZEC).

+In 2016, Edward Snowden under the pseudonym “John Dobbertin” participated in the implementation of the blockchain for Zcash along with Zcash founder Zooko Wilcox, Bitcoin developer Peter Todd, and three other individuals. These six individuals received a piece of the private key leading to the cryptocurrency Zcash. If just one of the six were to destroy their piece, no one would be able to take control of ZEC.

+This information has been confirmed by Edward Snowden himself in a video interview with Zcash Media. He stated that he saw the project being built by many well-known programmers in the crypto community and decided to lend his support.
