Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the STF (Supreme Federal Court), ordered the removal of parliamentarians from the Liberal Party who were camped in the Praça dos Três Poderes in protest against the restrictions on former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

In the decision, on the night of Friday (25), Moraes names federal deputies Hélio Lopes (PL-RJ), Sóstenes Cavalcante (PL-RJ), Cabo Gilberto Silva (PL-PB), Colonel Chrisóstomo (PL-RO), and Rodrigo da Zaeli (PL-MT) for them to be removed from the location by the Military Police of the Federal District.

Parliamentarians Sóstenes Cavalcante and Cabo Gilberto Silva denied, on social media, being at the camp in front of the STF.

The minister also notified the governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), to not allow new camps in the Praça dos Três Poderes. The decision mentions imprisonment in flagrant cases of 'resistance or disobedience' of those involved in 'possible criminal acts.'

Deputy Hélio Lopes set up a tent in front of the STF on the afternoon of last Friday. With a white tape over his mouth, the parliamentarian stated that the act represents a protest against recent decisions of the Supreme.

On the same afternoon, Colonel Chrisóstomo visited Lopes and informed that he would also join the protest. Chrisóstomo said that the protest was peaceful and aimed to 'show dissatisfaction' regarding the actions against former President Jair Bolsonaro.

In a post on X after Moraes' decision, Lopes stated that the Praça dos Três Poderes was surrounded and that there was a legal action underway to remove him from the location. 'If freedom needs escort, then we are no longer in a full democracy,' said the deputy.

Deputy Sóstenes Cavalcante, mentioned in Moraes' decision, stated that he was not in Brasília and that Brazil is no longer a democratic country.

'Notify Minister Alexandre de Moraes that he must be confusing the facts or having a breakdown. I am in Rio de Janeiro, working in my electoral base. I am not in front of the STF, as he decided to affirm in his decision to remove me,' he said in a post on X.

Cabo Gilberto Silva, also mentioned by Moraes, stated on social media that he was not in Brasília during the camp. 'Another serious mistake by the STF, I am working in Paraíba at this moment, I am not in the Praça dos Três Poderes in Brasília as the decision stated.'
