Sharding in HBAR refers to a scalability technique used by the Hedera Hashgraph network to increase transaction throughput. It involves dividing the network into smaller, parallel "shards" (subnetworks), each processing its own subset of transactions independently. This allows HBAR to handle significantly higher transaction volumes,potentially exceeding 100,000 TPS compared to unsharded networks. Each shard maintains its own ledger, and nodes within a shard process transactions concurrently, improving speed and efficiency. Cross-shard communication ensures data consistency across the network. For HBAR, sharding is not fully implemented yet but is planned to enhance scalability for enterprise use cases, like banking, where high TPS is critical for handling massive transaction loads efficiently. #hedera
