The owner of thousands of bitcoins that had been inactive for 14 years transferred the remaining coins worth about $4.8 billion to the Galaxy Digital platform. According to blockchain analyst Lookonchain, on the night of July 17, he made 15 transactions totaling 40,192 BTC.

An unknown wallet owner, who had stored over 80,000 BTC ($9.6 billion at current rates) since 2011, had shown no activity until this month. On July 4, he 'woke up' and moved his coins to new wallets.

On July 15, he sent half of his bitcoins (40,000 BTC, or about $4.9 billion) to Galaxy Digital wallets. This company is known as an institutional broker serving large clients and conducting over-the-counter transactions.

Bitcoins from the first batch sent to Galaxy were later transferred to cryptocurrency exchanges Bybit, Binance, Bitstamp, Coinbase, Gemini, and several other unmarked addresses. According to Arkham, the 'whale' address from which he made transfers to the broker is now empty.
