UK plans to sell seized Bitcoin assets to fill fiscal gap
According to Wushuo, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves is considering selling Bitcoin assets seized by police to address public finances. These assets are estimated to be worth over £5 billion, partly derived from the 61,000 Bitcoins seized in 2018, which have increased in value approximately 20-fold. The Home Office is developing a "Crypto Asset Custody and Disposal Framework" to centrally manage and sell these assets. The project has been invited to tender, with a maximum commission of £40 million.
