The value of cryptocurrencies exceeds 4 trillion dollars for the first time ever

The market value of cryptocurrencies has surpassed the 4 trillion dollar mark for the first time ever, driven by gains in the crypto market following rising legislative momentum in the United States to regulate the sector.

During trading on Friday, the market value of cryptocurrencies reached approximately 4.003 trillion dollars, according to data from "CoinGecko".

This came with the support of the U.S. House of Representatives voting on three bills to regulate the cryptocurrency sector, paving the way for a structured legislative framework for the sector and for the United States to dominate crypto assets.

Alternative currencies - which are all digital assets other than Bitcoin - have led the recent surge, with the price of Ethereum rising by 5% to 3615.78 dollars, and Ripple rising by 3.1% to 3.461 dollars.
