The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced the return of 252 Venezuelans who were in El Salvador, in what he described as a «humanitarian agreement» that included the repatriation of migrants and the handover of 10 people accused of criminal activities.

During a joint broadcast, the Head of State detailed that the returning Venezuelans had faced «inhumane conditions» in the Central American country and thanked the various parties that facilitated the process, including former U.S. President Donald Trump, Pope Leo XIV, the Cardinal of El Salvador, Gregorio Chávez, and former Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
