Deep Tide TechFlow News, July 17, according to Decrypt, Roger Ver (also known as 'Bitcoin Jesus') has sued Spain in an attempt to prevent his extradition to the United States. U.S. authorities accuse Ver of tax evasion, mail fraud, and filing false tax returns. Ver's legal team claims that the extradition order restricts his freedom and emphasizes that Spanish authorities have not adequately assessed the uncertainty of U.S. treatment of cryptocurrency taxes. Ver renounced his U.S. citizenship in 2014 and became an early cryptocurrency investor and promoter of Bitcoin Cash (BCH). The U.S. accuses him of selling Bitcoin in 2017 without reporting the earnings to the IRS, and he was subsequently arrested in Spain.
