Bitcoin has reached a new all-time high, trading on Friday at more than $118,000 (€100,000). This increase came after an enthusiastic trading day in the U.S. on Thursday, when the main index of technology companies, the Nasdaq, reached a record value.

Interest in Bitcoin was driven by bullish and optimistic outlooks on risk assets and appetite for investing in technology companies, such as Nvidia, which recently reached a valuation of $4 trillion.

Bitcoin's all-time high also comes days before what the U.S. House of Representatives, one of the two chambers of Congress, has termed 'Crypto Week,' which will begin on July 14. It is then that lawmakers are expected to debate a series of bills that could define the regulatory framework for the sector in the United States. Bitcoin has gained more than 20% this year against the U.S. dollar.

Bloomberg data shows that investors poured around $1.2 billion (€1 billion) into Bitcoin ETFs (exchange-traded funds) on Thursday, driving the price to a new high above $116,000 before the rally continued on Friday to $118,000.
