The U.S. House of Representatives officially declared the week of July 14 as 'Crypto Week', during which three key bills for the future of digital assets in the country will be voted on.

This is a coordinated legislative move to position the United States as a global leader in Web3 innovation, and it would mark the largest federal regulatory advance on cryptocurrencies in over a decade.

Three key laws on the agenda

During the week of July 14 to 18, Congress will debate and vote on the following initiatives:

CLARITY for Payment Stablecoins Act: Establishes a legal framework for the issuance of stablecoins, both by banking and non-banking institutions.

Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act: Prohibits the development or implementation of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) in the United States, citing privacy risks.

GENIUS Act (previously approved in the Senate): Promotes innovation in digital assets, with incentives for blockchain sector companies and tax clarity.
