SharpLink invests $25.7 million in Ethereum and adopts ETH as a reserve asset
The company "SharpLink", listed on NASDAQ under the name "SBET", announced the acquisition of 10,000 Ethereum, becoming the largest publicly traded company to adopt Ethereum (ETH) as a primary reserve asset.
The news was revealed after the company signed an agreement with the Ethereum Foundation to purchase 10,000 ETH valued at $25.72 million (at a price of $2,572.37 per ETH).
The transaction was completed on the Ethereum mainnet on July 10, 2025.
Joseph Lubin, one of the founders of Ethereum, confirmed that the move reflects a long-term commitment to supporting Ethereum, through staking and re-staking assets to enhance the decentralization and sustainability of the network.
For its part, SharpLink, based in Minneapolis, confirmed it is providing innovative solutions in the gaming and betting sector, supported by Web 3 infrastructure and smart contracts.
