🪙 Lesson 8: What are stablecoins?
If Bitcoin is a wild stallion galloping through the waves of the market 🐎📉📈, then stablecoins are its calm cousin, lounging in a deck chair sipping a cocktail 🍹😌
Stablecoins (for example, $USDT , $USDC ) are cryptocurrencies pegged to the US dollar. 1 USDT ≈ 1 dollar 💵
They are also called 'digital dollars' — because they are as stable as morning coffee ☕️
Why are they needed?
🔁 Transition between coins: want to exit a volatile coin (like Bitcoin), but don’t want to cash out in the bank — you convert to a stablecoin.
💸 No need to rush for cash — everything stays on the exchange, fast and convenient.
🌍 Convenient for transfers — you can send 'dollars' anywhere in the world in a matter of minutes.
Example:
The market has crashed? 😱 Instead of panicking — you convert your assets to USDT and wait for the storm to pass 🌧️➡️🌤️
