⚠️Crypto Scam Alert: "Seed Phrase Honeypot" Trap 🚨
I’m sure most of you have seen messages like this before — [See the attached images below].
And sadly, some of you might have even been scammed.
But what you’re looking at is called the SEED PHRASE HONEY POT.
🚨 How it works?
The scammer publicly posts a seed phrase (the secret key phrase used to access a crypto wallet) on social media or forums. Alongside it, they display the wallet balance — usually showing a large amount of USDT or other valuable tokens to lure victims.
Here’s the hidden trap: the wallet contains zero TRX (TRON’s native coin). TRX is required to pay for transaction fees on the TRON blockchain. Without TRX, you cannot move or transfer the tokens in that wallet.
Sympathetic or opportunistic users try to send a small amount of TRX to the wallet, believing that by providing TRX, they can pay fees to transfer or withdraw the tokens.
As soon as you send TRX, a bot connected to the scam wallet automatically detects and drains your TRX immediately — stealing the funds you sent. [see the image below]
Even if the bot fails to drain the TRX you have deposited, whenever you try to move the USDT or other tokens, you will encounter this error:
❌ "No sufficient permission to transfer"
⚠️ Why?
This happens because the wallet is controlled by hidden smart contract restrictions or permission settings that block anyone but the scammer from transferring tokens, even if they have the seed phrase. This scam is a clever honeypot trap designed to steal your TRX.
✅ What You Must Do:
[] Never trust seed phrases you see online, no matter how tempting.
[] Don’t send TRX or any coin to unknown wallets.
[] If you see posts like this — report and warn others immediately.
[] Always double-check wallet permissions on tronscan.org
