Term HODL
HODL is a term that emerged in Bitcoin forums in its early years, back in 2013. As we can deduce at first glance, it comes from a mistake in writing the word "hold," commonly used in the investment world to indicate the intention to keep an investment in a portfolio for the long term (throughout the article we will shed light on where the error originated and how it became popularized to be adopted as a term).
Since then, HODL, not only as a term but also as an investment practice, has gained its own place within the crypto community.
