Trump intensifies tariff policy:

Imposition of a basic tariff of 10% on most imports starting April 5, followed by additional tariffs in response according to the country (such as 34% for China, 20% for the European Union, and 46% for Vietnam).

Announcement of a suspension of tariffs for more than 75 countries for 90 days (reduction to 10%), while tariffs on China have been raised to 125%.

Countries like China, Canada, and the European Union have applauded and imposed retaliatory tariffs, ranging from 10% to 25%.

Trump confirmed in a message on Truth Social: "Tariffs are the solution to our trade deficit," calling them "beautiful" despite market declines.

According to JP Morgan estimates, medium-sized American traders will pay over $82.3 billion in tariffs, and 50 to 60% of these will be passed on to consumers.
