In response, he launched a poll on X (formerly Twitter), which garnered around 1.2 million votes. Between 60% and 80% of respondents supported the idea of a new political party. Musk quickly branded the emerging movement as the “America Party.”

Declared Mission: Musk positions the America Party as a home for the “80% in the middle,” emphasizing fiscal responsibility and pro-business values. The initial political strategy focuses on influencing Congress by aiming to win 2–3 Senate seats and 8–10 House seats in the 2026 midterms, with the goal of tipping the balance in key legislative decisions.
