U.S. Secret Service Secures US$400 Million in Crypto Assets Over the Last Decade**
The U.S. Secret Service, the federal law enforcement agency of the United States (US), has recovered digital assets worth US$175 million from criminal activities over the last decade. Additionally, the majority of the seized funds amounting to US$400 million have been secured from a single cold wallet of a digital asset criminal.
For your information, this seizure operation involves the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office with the Secret Service’s Global Investigative Operations Center (GIOC). So far, the U.S. Secret Service, which is under the U.S. Department of the Treasury, continues to combat money counterfeiting schemes in the US.
In addition to seizures, the GIOC has conducted free training sessions for a week in over 60 countries to inform local law enforcement officials on how to identify and prevent fraud and crypto-based crimes.
