Elon Musk officially launched the #MuskAmericaParty announcing it on X as a way to “give back your freedom” and challenge today’s “one-party system”

The move follows his split with Donald Trump over the “Big Beautiful Bill”—a $3.3 trillion tax-cut/spending package Musk strongly opposed.

A poll Musk posted on July 4 drew over 1.2 million responses, with about 65% supporting the idea of breaking free from the two-party setup.

He intends to strategically target 2–3 Senate seats and 8–10 House districts in the 2026 midterms to influence tough votes.

But experts warn it won’t be easy—U.S. ballot laws, the winner-take-all system, and lack of political infrastructure make third-party success rare.

As of now, no formal FEC paperwork has been filed, and it remains uncertain if Musk’s gamble will gain real traction.
