#MuskAmericaParty Elon Musk announced the founding of his own political party in the United States
The mogul questioned the bipartisan system and promised to represent the “80% of the center” with a new national force. Entrepreneur Elon Musk announced this Saturday the founding of his own political movement, the Party of America, amid a growing rift with U.S. President Donald Trump and the current Republican leadership, according to his own statements on the social network X.
Musk stated: “Today the Party of America is created to return freedom to the United States,” after asking his followers if they supported the emergence of a new national political option. “By a factor of 2 to 1, they want a new political party and they will have it!” wrote the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. The debate about the bipartisan system in the United States has been openly driven by Musk, who recalled a non-scientific poll on X and stated: “Is there a need in the U.S. for a party that truly represents 80% of the center?”. Musk had said that if the tax package pushed by the Republicans were enacted, he would launch the Party of America as an alternative to the “one-party” system and to “give the people a voice.”
The creation of large alternative parties to the Democratic and Republican parties has precedents in the electoral history of the country, although they have rarely achieved national relevance. However, Musk's financial potential could influence the political landscape, either by supporting individual candidates or through his own political action committee (PAC), as the Party of America project progresses.
