#USChinaTensions: Global Strategic Rivalry

Tensions between the United States and China remain one of the most relevant geopolitical issues of the 21st century. Although both powers maintain diplomatic and commercial relations, their competition has intensified on multiple fronts: trade, technology, military influence, and geopolitics.

Since the trade war began in 2018, the U.S. has imposed tariffs and restrictions on Chinese tech companies like Huawei and TikTok, citing national security risks. China, in turn, has responded with similar measures and has strengthened its strategy of technological self-sufficiency.

In the military realm, the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait remain critical points. The U.S. has increased its naval presence in the region, while China continues military exercises and territorial claims that challenge the international order led by Washington.
