Buffett donates Class B shares of Berkshire to five charitable organizations, worth $60 billion. Daily news announced Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A.N, BRK.B.N) on June 27 local time that on that day, Buffett transferred 8,239 shares of Class A to 12,358,500 shares of Class B, with the aim of donating 12,358,321 Class B shares to Berkshire Hathaway for five institutions: 9,433,839 shares were donated to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; 943,384 shares to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation; in addition to donating 660,366 shares each to the Sherwood Foundation, Howard G. Buffett Foundation, and Novo Foundation. The donations will be received on June 30. Buffett currently owns 198,117 Class A shares and 1,144 Class B shares in Berkshire. (Gene10)
